Peer Support Volunteers are cancer survivors and caregivers that have been trained to listen and support you.  Talking to someone who has lived through the experience, and come out the other side, helps you know you can get through it also. 
 

REIKI & THERAPEUTIC TOUCH

Reiki & Therapeutic Touch restores the body’s natural  healing flow of energy. Energy Based Programs are designed to provide a relaxing experience and improve well-being.

DRUMMING
Leader: Mark Chindemi
Tuesday, April 3 - May 8
1:30pm-3:00pm

You will practice group drumming, meditation and guided imagery to promote personal and creative expression and spirituality. Come and enjoy some exercise and fun. Drums are provided. No previous drumming experience is necessary, just an open heart and mind. Registration required.


QI GONG

Qi Gong is a form of exercise that combines movement, meditation and breathing to promote emotional, spiritual and physical wellness. Registration required. This session may be cancelled if sufficient enrollment is not reached. 

YOGA
Leader: Shanti Parakh 
Tuesday, April 10 - May 8                                      10:30am-12:00pm
Yoga can help patients and caregivers exercise control over their physical and emotional healing. Members are taught body awareness techniques and through gentle stretching and movement exercises can achieve enhanced physical strength and flexibility. registration required. This session may be cancelled if sufficient enrollment is not reached.

JOURNALING WORKSHOP 
Leader: Christine Whelan-McCoy
Tuesday, March 27                                                    10:30am-12:00pm

Journaling is a program for cancer patients and caregivers. Using a combination of writing and other creative exercises, members can address and discuss cancer-related issues in a non-threatening environment. Issues commonly addressed in Journaling are lifestyle disruption, changes in relationships, and cope with emotions commonly experienced with cancer. No previous experience in journaling or writing is necessary, and members may chose whether or not to discuss their writings with other group members. Registration required.
