Cancer Exercise Training for Fitness Professionals
Wellspring recognizes that fitness professionals play a vital public health role. With appropriate training, and in collaboration with other health professionals, fitness professionals can play an important role in the recuperative process for clients with cancer, and in the prevention of recurrence for cancer survivors.
Wellspring recommends the minimum qualifications for a fitness professional working with clients with cancer and survivors is that they be over 18 years of age, hold a current fitness certification from a recognized body (e.g. CAN FIT PRO, CSEP, CPTN, ASCM and/or ACE), hold current CPR certification and have a minimum of 400 hours of general experience as a fitness professional.
