Cancer Exercise and Rehab

An estimated 177,800 Canadian men, women and children will be diagnosed with cancer this year.  As the population ages, the number of Canadians living with cancer is increasing.

Exercise is now recognized as an important tool in the cancer treatment and rehabilitation process, medical professionals are increasingly prescribing exercise to cancer patients, and cancer patients are seeking out qualified fitness professionals to help them exercise safely.

Wellspring is a leader in the field of cancer rehabilitation.  Since 2009, Wellspring's Cancer Exercise program has supported over 800 cancer patients, guiding them in their cancer journey and recovery through the development of personalized exercise programs.

Wellspring offers several training programs for exercise professionals interested in working with clients with cancer histories.  Wellspring's Cancer Exercise and Rehab training program was developed by physiotherapist Jodi Steele, B.Kin. B.H.Sc. (PT)., a leading expert in unique exercise considerations for cancer patients and survivors.  Jodi also developed Wellspring's Cancer Exercise program.
